The plot could be a lot better, although at least there is a story mode on offer here.ĭescription: Smash up cars in chaotic vehicular combat Kresnik’s comment: One of one forgotten titles in the PS1’s library, Destrega is going to be one of those love-it-or-hate-it experiences – the fighting here is quite shallow, but very flashy and unique (reminiscent of Dragon Ball in a lot of ways) which makes it a joy to mindlessly mash your way through. The boosting feels sublime, the story mode provides a fantastic way to experience the world and the amount of tracks and weapons make it a brilliant offering.ĭescription: Fire-chucking 3D fighter with terrible story but enjoyable combat Kresnik’s comment: While Mario has remained the king of spin-off games, Crash Team Racing gave the plumber a fantastic run for his money by offering some of the best racing available on the PS1. While the base game itself provides a solid challenge, the gem levels and relic races show the true heart of the title – one that will keep you occupied for a long time.ĭescription: Spin-off cart racer starring many returning faces from the Crash Bandicoot franchise Kresnik’s comment: Many people weren’t fans of the addition of vehicle levels (bikes, planes) for this entry, but for me everything that was added in Warped makes this the best in the franchise.
